Dr Lai is responsible for Emps core technology development. He is Emps' CTO, on the Board of Directors and is a major shareholder. His technical innovations will change many sectors of the power electronics industry. The 6 phase DC-DC converter technology that Emps will use in solar inverter products has already been adopted for Solid Oxide Fuel Cells and by the US Army for next generation combat vehicles.
William Haynes, VP Business Development
Mr Haynes' 25 year career focus has been to prove economic benefits of environmental paradigm shifts. This is accomplished in close cooperation between industry and governmental organizations. He completed the course work for an MBA and MCM (Masters of City Management) focusing on FASB and GASB (Financial and Governmental Standards Board). He also did graduate studies in City Management, City Planning & Finance from East Tennessee State University.
Mr Haynes researched and proved the environmental and economic benefit for the industry's first sanitary landfill. His landfill design model became the industry standard for subtitle D of the Sanitary Landfill Act. He also designed and developed the first active landfill project to meet this standard working with TenKan, a division of H.R. Hamm. This eastern Kansas landfill project created a billion dollar cash flow.
Previously Mr. Haynes established the first industrial recycling program in Tennessee by proving the economic benefits to industry. He worked closely with several industries to establish best business practices. He also has trained the FBI's hazardous waste squad.
Paul Bundschuh, VP Marketing & Technology
Mr Bundschuh has 20 years of experience in commercialization and market development of new DSP technologies in consumer and communications industries. Mr Bundschuh has a Bachelor and Masters in Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and an Executive MBA from the University of Texas at Austin.
Most recently Mr Bundschuh was VP Sales and Marketing for Waves Audio Ltd where is was responsible for development and sales of new psychoacoustic solutions to improve the audio quality in consumer electronics. Mr Bundschuh licensed technology to top consumer and computer firms including Toshiba, Sony, Sanyo, Microsoft, HP, and JVC.
Previously Mr Bundschuh held several positions at Motorola Semiconductor (now Freescale). Mr Bundschuh began an intrapreneurial team that developed the industry's first generation Home Theater technology and achieved worldwide leadership in both technology and market share.
David Grab, Controller
Mr Grab is Controller of Emps. He has extensive experience in accounting and finance including governmental fund accounting, both light and heavy manufacturing accounting, and engineering service accounting. He recently served as CFO for Advanced Labelworx of Oak Ridge, and VP of Finance, Planning & Budgeting for Environmental Systems Corporation of Knoxville.
Charles Burchett, Honorary President
Mr Burchett, who received his BS degree from Austin Peay State University and MA from George Peabody College, is acting President of Emps. Mr. Burchett held the position as Dean of Student Conduct, University of Tennessee, for 46 years where he established a successful record of experience and achievements in operations management, program development, staff training/motivation, event/project planning, and community relations. He is a former president of the West Knoxville Republican Club and has served as a chairman of the Knoxville school board and a member of the Knoxville library board. As a dedicated professional who maintains a strong commitment to improving operations and developing programs and services which will help establish the Company's future direction and ensure its continued organizational growth, he offers additional strengths in the areas of business administration, human resources and budgeting.
Tony Wang, Product Engineer
Mr. Wang is a Product Engineer at EMPS responsible for commercialization of the initial products including product design, manufacturing, certification and quality. Mr Wang received his Masters in Power Electronics from Virginia Tech in 1999. He previously served as Chief Engineer for induction cooking applications at Luxine, Inc. He was responsible for design, evaluation testing, certification, and product management for four induction cooking systems utilized in 31 commercial and 9 residential cooking models.
